The OD850 outdoor motion detector can be configured to generate a unit alarm when either the PIR or Microwave technology senses an alarm state or require both for the unit to alarm.
To select OR mode set switch 4 to the Off position and cut the jumper (4-10) (see figure below).
The AND mode is selected by placing switch 4 in the On position with the jumper (4-10) not cut.
When set to the AND mode, both both technologies must simultaneously sense an alarm condition to generate a unit alarm.
When set to the OR mode either, sensing either the PIR or Microwave technology will generate a unit alarm.
Note: The OR mode is not recommended for most installations. The OR mode provides faster detection in some conditions. It can also increase the likelihood of nuisance alarms because the detector activates the alarm relay based on input from a single technology.
