Troubleshoot MUX A Wire Fail or Wiring Fault


What causes the panel to display "MUX A Wire Fail or Fault"?


  • Causes:

Wiring Fault  - Is an Open Loop for a Class A Wired Loop.

Wire Fail - Is a Short across the loop wiring


  • Solution

MUX WIRE FAIL or FAULT Check the following

1) Programming - is the buss wired Class A or Class B, Check that MUX BUS TYPE is set to the correct option.

  • Enter Program Mode
  • Press 0 - Enter Pin (Default is 9876)
  • Press 9 PROGRAM MUX
  • Press 3 BUS TYPE - Choose (1) for Class A  - (2) Class B

2) Measure for a short across the MUX Buss. You should have 8 to 10 VDC on the both Buss A and B.
