Error occurred during enumeration of SMB shares: The Server service is not started on DIVAR IP AIO

Symptoms

Some errors occur when trying to add additional new HDDs in a DIVAR IP AIO.

Volumes are created successfully but while creating VHD’s, the following errors occur:

• „The folder can't be created on the computer. Folder: F:\ „ComputerName”

Could not find a part of the path”

• „Error occurred during enumeration of SMB shares: The Server service is not started.”

Solution

This behavior is as expected, because the Server Service allows a very high level of access to the configuration, including management of the iSCSI target and the LUNs.

So, to improve the security, the Server Service is being disabled on the DIPs.

It would be recommended to disable that service once you finish with the VHD creation to improve the security of the unit.
