Bosch cameras are showing as idle in VRM monitor and they are not recording: ‘iSCSI timeout’ error
Possible causes and solution(s)
System overview:
BVMS
AUTODOME starlight 5100 & DINION bullet 5000 cameras added in VRM
Symptoms
In BVMS Operator Client, the cameras are showing live view, but no recordings.
In the camera’s webpage > recording page, it appears that cameras are managed by VRM and “iSCSI timeout” error is displayed.
This behavior was noticed on several CPP7.3 cameras.
Solution
Be aware that for AUTODOME starlight 5100 and DINION bullet 5000, by default, DHCP is pre-set at the factory to On plus Link-Local so a DHCP server assigns an IP address or, if no DHCP server is available, a link-local address (auto-IP) is assigned within the range 169.254.1.0 to 169.254.254.255.
Therefore, please check if for the cameras that are not recording, the DHCP is set as “ON plus Link Local”. If so, please set a Static IP address.
Note
Change the settings of DHCP after upgrading camera to the latest FW available on the product page or on Download Area.
We would suggest on changing the DHCP to "ON" only, not "ON plus Link Local" (as a test) on the camera where you installed the latest FW.
In latest FW there are some chances that an issue of DHCP may be solved.
If the behavior persist, please provide Central Technical Support team with some details regarding:
the IPs ranges of the cameras and the servers
are there multiple VLANs set?
the IP range that is assigned to and by DHCP server
