[FAQ] Plan MUX Loop Wiring For D7039, FPE-7039 and DS9431
Question
Can 14awg wire be used to extend the length of the run on the MUX Buss?
Answer
No. The multiplex loop wiring options are up to 3800ft (1170 m) of 18 AWG (1.0 mm2) wire or 5950ft (1810 m) of 16AWG (1.5 mm2) wire. Do not use shielded wire.
Note:
If using all New Devices and D7039 with 1.04 firmware or higher, the Data Loop Resistance cannot exceed 50 Ohms per buss.
If using D7039 with 1.04 firmware or higher with old, or a combination of old and new devices, the Data Loop Resistance cannot exceed 30 Ohms
