How to Have the Panel Silence and Clear Alarms without touching the Keypad

Can an alarm be cleared when the zone clears without using the keypad? 

• Solution

Yes. The alarm can be cleared when the zone clears if you program the zone for Non-Latching.

Use the following steps to program the zone as Non-Latching:

1. Press [0][9][8][7][6] (Program Code) on the keypad to enter Program Mode.
2. Press [4] to select "Input Programming."
3. Press [1] to select "Point Number."
4. Enter the point number (001 to 255) followed by [#].
5. Press [4] to select "Latching."
6. Press [0] to select "NO."

 *Note- This does not work for Latching devices, such as a 2 or 4 wire Smoke.

If there is another point that need to be Non-Latching Press * (Clear) once and repeat steps 4 through 6 above for each point that needs to be Non-Latching.

 To Exit Program Mode Press * (Clear) 4 times.
