According to the Release letter of VIDEOJET decoder 8000, the physical access to the system via keyboard is protected by a log-in dialog.

As soon as a keyboard is connected, a login message appears that can only be closed by entering the ‘service’ password or by removing the keyboard.

With successful login, standard applications like Command Shell, Explorer, Task Manager and Control Panel are automatically started, improving support in case of issue investigation.

✅ A special function within this dialog allows to set the unit to factory defaults by entering ‘factoryreset’ instead of the password.
