How does the FoV work in AVIOTEC?
Question
How does the FoV work in AVIOTEC?
Answer
The field of view (FoV) determines the flame and smoke size for the fire to be detected.
For example, to detect fire in a wider field of view, the smoke and flame size needs to be bigger.
Whereas a smaller flame and smoke can be detected in a narrow field of view.
The FoV is measured in millimeters (mm): is the calculation of the optical distance from the point where light converge to form a sharp image of an object to the sensor.
The focal length tells us the angle of view:
- Short focal length means wide angle of view
- Long focal length means narrow angle of view and high magnification
Here it is the difference between a 14mm lens and 140 mm lens
