This article lists the initial troubleshooting steps for issues with ONVIF cameras, added to BVMS system as Live Only ONVIF cameras. The specific point in this scenario is VSG is not used.
Possible causes and solution(s)
Camera can't be added to device tree, or there are issues with live view from the camera
First points to check are if the camera in ONVIF Profile S compliant and if there are ONVIF specific settings that need to be enabled that the camera.
Solution
1. Check if the camera is ONVIF compliant and if it is tested in the respective BVMS version. (link to how to article - How to check if a 3rd party camera is supported in BVMS?)
2. Check for vendor specific settings of the camera when using ONVIF:
- ONVIF stream to be enabled?
- ONVIF user to be created?
3. Try to add the camera to VSG and see if the same issue persist.
add as ONVIF if still no success add as RTSP camera to see if you have live video
4. After the above steps, reproduce the issue and provide to technical support:
- Wireshark capture that covers the complete time of reproduction
- Full screen recording (or Screenshots) of the reproduction, or clear list with the steps for reproduction
- BVMS Configuration Collection from the Management Server
